NDA + Schooling Integrated Preparation Program

The Winning Edge Defence Academy (WEDA) has been preparing candidates for defence entrance exams since 2019. The institute is known for its quality of teaching and commitment, and WEDA provides complete handholding at every stage of the selection process.

With structured learning, expert faculty, SSB orientation, personality development training, and regular assessments, students receive a complete program required for the NDA written exam, along with preparation in Science and Mathematics.

NDA + Schooling Preparation Program

The Winning Edge NDA + Schooling Preparation Program at WEDA is designed to prepare students for the National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance examination along with their academic studies.

This program allows students to prepare for NDA while continuing their school education, ensuring balanced preparation and strong academic performance.

NDA Selection Process

NDA Written Examination

The NDA written examination is conducted twice a year by UPSC, generally in the months of April and September.

The application forms are usually released in February for the April exam and July for the September exam.The examination consists of two papers:

Mathematics – 300 marks General Ability Test (GAT) – 600 marks

The written examination carries a total of 900 marks.

SSB Interview

Candidates who qualify the written examination are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview, conducted at designated SSB centres across India.

Medical Examination

Candidates recommended by the SSB board undergo a comprehensive medical examination to ensure they meet the medical standards required for the Armed Forces.

Stages of the SSB Interview

Step 1

Screening Test

This stage includes the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and the Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT). Candidates who clear the screening move to the next stage.

Step 2

Psychological Tests

This stage evaluates the candidate’s psychological traits through tests such as Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self Description Test (SDT).

Step 3

GTO Tasks

Candidates participate in Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, which include group discussions, group planning exercises, outdoor tasks, and command tasks to assess leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Step 4

Personal Interview & Conference

Candidates appear for a personal interview, followed by a final conference where all assessors evaluate the candidate and decide the recommendation.

Step 5

Final Merit List

A final merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the written exam and SSB interview, along with medical fitness and available vacancies.
